Engage milk crate/sheepskin
The makings of a good weekend with my old truck and my current DRZ400, prior to installing the bigger tank.
Not much visual change, but added some carbon wheels to my enduro bike. With lighter casing tires, dropped about 2 lbs from the overall weight. Finally got it out for a ride yesterday, starting way too late to prepare for a race in Aug.
I may be slow, but I'll look good?

Engage milk crate/sheepskin
Need a sheepskin? I have an Alaska Leather one in black. Doesn't fit my Scram 411. I also have an 'Action Packer' by Rubbermaid pre-drilled for the rack on that. Has a lid, unlike a milk crate.
There's nothing quite like it.
Except maybe throwing yourself down a flight of stairs in a burlap sack.
First ride on the 690 rally build! Modified Kit690 setup. Unfortunately seized the shock after about an hour (circlip slipped, seal head cocked and let the shock piston band wedge between the piston and the shock body). Built a new one and going out to test again the next couple days. She's a big heavy pig that doesn't want to turn with 9 gallons of gas on board, but making some more suspension changes to fix that. The springs for this first ride were way too soft, especially the rear,

Just a straight on shot:
It's a "swagman" roof rail from amazon, a couple junkyard Impreza tow hooks, and some steel. Works ok although I added a strap to the trunk to keep wind resistance from leaning the bike back at higher speeds.
Added this to the fleet. 2023 Xr150l- light, does a little of everything, 124 mpg, 2.8 gallon tank (340 + Mile range) and carbureted. This is what I needed for the random trails and after work city errands.
This thing sat dirty for a year, looked scabby as hell, and I took full advantage. The ad started out at $6000 and I paid $3600. An hour with the pressure washer and liberal amounts of degreaser made all the difference. It'll be my winter project

That wild 90s color scheme on the DRZ is amazing!
Better pic of it.
