A reasonably priced (~$1000?) *titled* GS500 Suzuki in running condition. I'm hoping one of The Hive bump into/know someone who's got something behind their garage. I've been searching in my 500 mile radius on FB and finding consistent examples with no title, but very few with. I hope to find something my daughter can learn to ride. PM me if you find something. The closer to mid-Missouri the better. Thanks in advance!
Any particular reason for GS500? Kawasaki Ninja 250 will be much easier to find in that price range. I should point out this time of year is when all motorcycles are priced the highest.
Find this in Indianapolis Honda Interceptor 500 $1500
Even an EX500 should be pretty cheap and easy to ride.

Yeah, I've got a secondary interest in the Suzuki once she's done learning on it...
A cheap carbed Interceptor is a scary concept. Would not recommend.
GS500 is a good little bike. It's what I bought to learn on, though it was a lot of learning motorcycle maitenance. Good luck with the search.

Found one! Former racing bike with a title for $400. Pics when I pick it up. :)
My wife's first (& last) bike was a 'Zuki 550, nice looking, plenty quick but top heavy for a newbie. I guess it would depend on your daughter's size.
Any of the <600 cc Hondas that aren't sport bikes are perfect. Learn, take the road test, run it a year or two and sell it for what you paid for it.
CB 360 - $1200. With any of these, if your daughter is vertically challenged it's easy enough to recover the seat with less foam or buy shorter shocks.
Edit: The 360 is very near my son, he can store it until pickup or shipping is arranged. Pretty sure about any GRMer would do the same.

Honda 650.
