I'm in to follow. Dirt bike engine rebuild always seemed reasonably simple, but a project I've never tackled. I played with a few KX80s when I was younger, one was a big wheel version. Great fun!!

You can reuse that head without issue. You could, if you want, polish it out a bit.
Why not replate the nikasil?
When I had a similar situation I removed the cylinder, tank, etc., put the entire bike upside down and pressure washed the bottom end until I was satisfied everything came out

I considered polishing the head but didn't want to risk doing anything to the sealing surface if I slipped while polishing. I didn't like all of those sharp edges which would create hot spots. But maybe I'm making it too complicated.
I did lots of searching about Nikasil. The cost is more than sleeving. Like 1 company's price for a Repair & re-plate is $309.
An LA Sleeve H-5066 Co-Mo sleeve is $69, then I find a good machine shop to bore, install, final bore & hone. Calling around today to get prices.
OR There is a re-sleeve service on eBay that does it all for $260 & uses the stock size Namura piston as the final size so I don't have to send them my new one after I get it.
If I do a sleeve, the new owner can do some future re-bores as needed in the future.
I'll be washing it out somehow. I thought about water but was nervous about that, but if I blow it out with air then do a misting spray of oil then it would be ok.
If you have a pressure washer, soap and water is by far the best thing you can do.
It won't hurt it, I put over 50 hours on mine after I did that 5 years ago and it's still running today with probably 50 more hours on it.
Ok I'll do the motor soapy water pressure wash out.
Found a semi local Motorcycle machine shop that will install the LA Sleeves sleeve & do the final bore/hone for $200.
Since the tires are cracked from old age & the chain & sprockets are worn out replacing them all. Surprised I found a 428 chain/sprocket set as opposed to the stock 420. The wheel bearings are all bad also.
I don’t know what CR80’s are worth where you are but I’d keep an eye on the expenses if you plan on flipping it.
I bought a rough but near complete and running 74 KX125 last night.
I would swap a predator 212 and a torque converter on it. Sub 200$. Ive been looking for a rolling dirtbike frame to try it on but everyone thinks their 50$ Bike frame is worth 800+$.
That head is for sure reusable. Let me ask my cousin but he has piles of cr80 parts. I'll see if he has a good top end laying around.

That sounds like fantastic fun!
I wanted to do something like that so you still have gears. Work a gearbox in there somehow.
otherwise just a cheap motor and converter to chain. Go have reliable fun and know a new motor is only 100$ away if you blow it up.
Nothing wrong with the head. I would bet most 80's and 125's look like that and it will not go to a hotshot who wants to make it to Loretta Lynn.
Contrary to popular belief you can run a hone through nikasil and it will be fine. If the sleeve has some minor gouges just do that, put a couple hours on it to bed everything in and send it down the road.
In reply to Lof8 - Andy :
There are some bikes being parted out & various good frames. I use Search Tempest - searches all Craigslist. I don't use FB but probably more on there.

I know, I always fix everything & then have a really nice bike I don't to sell or too much $ in it. So far everything I've checked or taken apart is bad. Even the silencer had no packing & came out in pieces & was solid baked 2 stroke oil exhaust. It took hours of soaking in the parts washer & reaming out the pieces with a 1/2" x 8" bolt, a wire wheel & a small jewelers screw driver to clean out each hole. Then welded the pieces back together. Someone cut slots in it because it was so clogged.
I just really like fixing them though. Would like to find a 125 2 stroke & make a trail bike with a fww & lights.
