I like the Duc but having sat on one before... I don't think I could spend much time between rests. It didn't fit me.
I like but don't love the Griso's look. It's "nice" looking but not beautiful. The exhaust must go. It does have upright standard seating, shaft drive, and decent power. It's likely to be more forgiving on my spine and knees for longer rides. Given the choice of only those two... Griso.
For a Street bike, the Guzzi.

Inline 4s are okay, triples are better, but a high revving 1000cc V-twin trumps both. What's the price difference? I assume the MV Augusta would cost 30% more.
In reply to Petrolburner:
I'm not disagreeing... but why is that?
Oh, and a high revving V4 trumps them all.

V-twin sport bikes sound like whoopee cushions up in the RPMS, its like listening to PPPPPPPPPTTTTTTTTTTTTTBBBBBBBBBBBBTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHH
The worst part is, Duc knows they're outclassed, why else do you think they bitch, piss, and moan for to get favorable displacement rulings for WSBK and MotoGP.
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
Like the Aprilia RSV4?
I just prefer the sound of a V-twin like my Aprilia. I'd really like to add a Tuono to my collection once I have more space.

as with all vs thread, they are as stated. Whatever reason you choose to justify your answer is good enough.
The Griso is 110hp now and the Monster is 113. So both are pretty quick.
Edit: Weights Griso is 489.4 lbs and the Duc is 401.2 lbs
You sure of your numbers?

I would take the Duc all day. I test rode one back to back with my S4Rs and it was a blast. Just not worth the $$ to upgrade. I still like the original Monster better then any of the others.
I have seen inconsistencies with the numbers on these bikes.
That just makes them more Italian.

Ducati, because I've allways liked the way they look and sound. But to be fair I've never seen a guzi in the flesh around here.

I find myself resenting the new Monsters only because I think the first design was about as close to perfect as a motorcycle's design could get. All downhill from there.
The Griso is evidently much more capable than you might expect.
Put 1100km on my Stelvio this weekend.
It has the same engine as the Griso.
It's no slouch, plenty of power on tap and it sounds fantastic.
I just got home.
I'm tired ffs.
Here's a pic from when I got it:
You made me go out to the garage...
She's a little dirty but a trip to the wash bay at work will make it all better:
Here's her dirty undercarriage:

Guzzi's everwhere! At least that's how I felt when I stopped by the local Guzzi/Aprilia place this weekend. This is the place that literally "wrote the book" on Moto Guzzi. Guzzi's of every type and description, old stuff and pretty much the whole line of new stuff too. The owner Dave even stopped and talked Ducati's with me for a while. Cool place, definitely a must-see for anyone into Moto Guzzi if you are in or near Seattle.
If your going Italian go all in or don't go at all

You could have waited to post them.
That is super nice. Makes me think my Cagiva and a GS had a love child. I could rock that.
