PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Don't use normal super glue on open wounds it's bad for you. (The medical kind is ok though)

I just use cotton gauze and the water proof medical tape (or black electrical if out of the other) on finger cuts that are always getting re opened. Change the bandage once a day, keep the cut clean. If you aren't doing anything with the fingers for a while and the bleeding stops, let them get some air and dry the skin.

I have had some nasty cuts over the years, everything from run-ins with meat slicers to stepping barefoot on broken glass bottles. The only ones worth going in for are if they are on your head (tape won't stick to hair very well) or deep gushers, or something needs sewn back on

This seems like an appropriate thread to ask:

Jere - what the heck is your avatar? Med students looking at the insides of a cadaver's foot or something?

In reply to Schmidlap:

I searched for pictures of toe plates for a some other thread and came across that pic. It is corrective toe straightening surgery, some lady was wearing shoes that were too small for too long. I thought it was more interesting than the avatars of kittens with frog hats or that blue ghost like in yours That and I have probably seen too many zombie movies

In some circles over there it's considered extremely attractive. Over here, well I for one would run like hell if I saw it.

Guy in Oz, drunk as E36 M3, slashed his little finger on a broken beer glass, he then leaves the bar and staggers into the night, eventually collapsed in a phone booth from the booze, and maybe blood loss.

We are called in the morning as the duty shift, body had bled out from a cut little finger, still in the phone booth. The alcohol helped.

He did eventually stop bleeding, so I guess your comment is not wrong, but...

...or if you wreck during a DH practice run and slice your shin open with a pedal... and then tumble through a mud pit... resulting in a med tech spending an hour digging black VT mud out of your leg... Got 14 stitches out of that one... 5 of them just so they could get the inner layers close enough together to stitch the outer layers...

Thankfully almost totally nonexistent now. It's been illegal since the communists took power, and was already on the way out since the late 19th century.
