I'll be 59 in June so...
13,150 out of 100,000 are dead now but 845 out of 100,000 died before entering High School.
13,150 - 845 = 12,305 out of 100,000 are dead now so that's 12.31% or 68 people in absolute terms.

Berk it, maybe I should get that Porsche I've always wanted; thoughts?
Edit - Technically, some die during High School (two in my case) so they didn't actually graduate but whatever.
The answer to the "should I buy the Porsche I've always wanted" question is always, if you can afford, yes. That's regardless of how may of your classmates are dead.
I saw the early part of the sentence that said 13,150 are dead and my first thought was...how big was your high school!
Another one of my high school classmates just died a couple weeks ago. I'm 66; I haven't tallied up the total number of people who have died from our class but it is probably around 12 per cent.
I'm 47 and just lost another classmate two weeks ago. It's one of the reasons I've started doing more goofy E36 M3

Hear ya' brotha.
The SSA estimates that I'll be dead in 23 years..me thinks being Mr. Responsibility all the time may be a mistake.
Oh berk, I just realized Aircooled may read this thread at my funeral...it's all good just make sure they crank the volume to eleven an play My Sharona at the end buddy

Speaking actually, instead of actuarilially, 5% of my high school class are dead.

Duke appears to be a 1965 model so probably class of 83.
Edit - I just realized that my math is a little off as I only used the numbers for men so including women will pull the 12.31% number down moderately.
A college friend passed a little over year ago. We reconnected via FB but hadn't met in person–blame distance, time, etc.
When I started reading the FB post, I just knew. It started by saying that this post was from both of her kids. I don't know if she'd been having health issues, but right there I knew they weren't writing to share good news.
Allison was always very sweet to us. She was a year older and totally out of our league, but she was always so kind–like, one of those people who went out of their way to greet you with a smile.
Planning to live forever. So far, so good.

I am a '65, but I started a year early so I am class of '82.
My school may be statistical outliers, though, because our graduate classes had between 40-45 kids in them.
graduated with 118 and as far as I know 4 have died so far (I am pretty sure that is the total and there aren't any that did it quietly). Interestingly the class was nearly 50/50 men and women yet all 4 that died have been men. 2 car accidents, 1 OD, 1 heart attack.
Edit: Graduated HS in 1994

Pessimist.
89.69% of them are alive.
Get the best Porsche you can afford if that's what you want. Of course, the worst Porsche you can afford is more of a challenge.
I don't have specific numbers, but an unfortunate number of my high school friends and associates have passed since graduation 30+ years ago, including my best friend and an ex-g/f. Plus another friend from middle school who as a year older but got held back and ended up in my graduating class (apparently died in a drug related shooting). My class was some 560 kids, so 12.31% equals about 69 which is definitely possible from what I remember the memorial table from the last reunion looking like.

When you start seeing more people your age in the obituary pages than you used to, it's time to start spending the money instead of saving it.
Graduated class of '04, 12 kids in my graduating class. 1 is a grandmother, 2 are dead, I'm here. No idea about the others I never met them.
