12v landscape light question.

I have two strings of solar powered LED lights woven into the roof of the Pergola.  One burns out the other one still good, I'm going to get up there and change it, a  never ending cycle.

I have 12 volts running lights on the deck from a 110 - 12V transformer timer.  Can I snip off the solar nonsense and just wire those lights into the existing 110 timer thing?

It should work.  Watch the temperature of the transformer, as the number of lights increase, it has to work harder.  It might not have any sort of overload protection and it could melt.
