Should I ? Blown head gasket,standard transmission for $600.00. How big a can o worms could this be?

If it's only a BHG, not a big deal. I saw many with chocolate milk in the crankcase, replace the HG, flush the oil pan with kerosene or diesel, change the oil twice in the first 100 miles and drive on.

Now, occasionally you will see one advertised 'BHG' but it's really a cracked head. They have been known to crack right down the center under the camshaft. There's an aftermarket head available, you'll probably drop $800-$1k for the whole shebang if you do the work yourself.

Rust. If it's not rusty, it could be worthwhile. We had an '87 Turbo Diesel that racked up 450k miles before rotting away to nothing.

Probably hafta pass on this one.No heads available local. 10 hours labor by the book. I see a lot of worms in this can.
