That's not cheesy, that's a whole cheese factory right there.
Yea yea, they don't make cheese in factories...whatever.

Good for you.
Kinda useless to have it project on the street. Why not put it where it can project "Move over" or "Get the hell out of the left lane!" in red on another car's windshield. Better yet, have it say "shiny happy person" on the windshield of the driver who just cut you off.

Now that is a feature I could support.

Yes I know for all of us perfect drivers we don't need such things but there are 300 million people and they can't all be as good a driver as we are..
but making it a FEDERAL REQUIREMENT pisses me off.

This argument is completely beyond my ability to comprehend. Why not? Shrug I give up and am leaving this thread.

Because there are some of us don't want it!!!!!! Why should be forced to buy cars that have it if we don't want them?

You're certainly not forced to buy a car that have it!

Ok not well worded but if we want to buy a new car why should we have to buy a new car with that stuff?

Do you realize you are saying a four year old could drive a decision as major as buying a car?
It used to be cupholders could make or break a sale so the mfgs started putting the damn things everywhere. Then it was airbags everywhere including the cupholders. Now it's twinkly LEDs. And people wonder why I heart my old Trooper.

One of us should make business out of selling replacement units or retrofit units to the "lambo doors" crowd.
We have a suggestion for the Bat Signal, My Little Pony, and Calvin. What do you think would sell?
Star Wars & Star Trek Insignias?
Hello Kitty?
Manga/Anime characters?
South Park characters?

Yes, to all. Shouldn't be that hard to do. I really should see if I can't pull that thing apart and see what's all entailed. LOL

Only a matter of time.
In reply to mguar:
Those are not reasons I would buy a new (as opposed to used) car. I buy for practicality and longevity, all that fluffy E36 M3 is completely unimportant. I am not impressed by so called luxury brands in anything.
Yeah, I know that automatically makes me someone the car companies (or anyone else) will not listen to. I'm OK with that. My future financial welfare is not their concern, it's mine. They could care less if I eat cat food during retirement as long as I buy their pimpalicious offering now. I see it differently.
I also understand it has drastically shrunken the pool of more basic transportation in the used market. That sucks from one perspective, but from another it's good for those who buy used, they can get more luxury crap on a car for less money than new (if they are so inclined).
mguar wrote: In reply to Curmudgeon: Market forces.. Free market, whatever.. The reason most cars have automatics instead of manual transmission is due to market forces..
I have to argue with this. As I grew up, I would have to say, depending on the model, about maybe a 30-40, maybe 50% automatic saturation, this is 1983-84. As the years went on, the sales tactics from the dealers didn't change, auto's=optional equipment=mo money, but the factory seemed to allow a greater latitude in ordering cars for the lot and not for actual customers. This just lead to more and more autos, along with the overabundance of "life-saving" FWD's that only could be made with automatics. :puke: Now, it's good luck to get a car exactly how you want it.
If the "market" could get what it really wants, I would agree. But that is far from the case.
