We have been to two different events in Jacksonville over the years. They started a race here and finished one. Both were a blast. Great cars and driver stories. Just sent in my volunteer form from the link you supplied. Thanks - Scott
Neat event, and they'll be overnighting in Ypsilanti. I'll have to go have a look. It would be nice to see the cars on the fly, too. I wonder what route they'll take from Hickory Corners to Ypsi?
They had a stopover by me a few years ago. It was a lot of fun to see the cars and meet the people involved.
I just looked at the route. It is actually going all the way north to Sault St. Marie and then south back down to Traverse City.
They get into Traverse on Sunday July 2nd! Good luck getting a hotel room! Already a super busy weekend.
I would expect that coming from Mackinaw to Traverse they will all go right through Charlevoix, MI and over the draw bridge in downtown. It would be a great spot to watch them all go by.
They made a stop over in my town several years ago.
Lots of really interesting cars, like Model A,s with full flow oil filters.
My ol' Paw got hired to run this ( it was called the great american race back then) way back in the '80's cuz he was scca class B national champ for TSD rally. He ran a '14 Dodge, which was.... a challenge in itself, and then won it in a '36 Buick which was so easy to drive even I could manage it as a nbbbly teenager. I got to be in the start parade the year he won it, riding in the car, down main street in Disneyland. Thanks for the link and dredging up fond memories.

They didn't have good maps back then. Today's maps would be cheating I assume.

Give everyone an old gas station map and then watch the codrivers try to fold them at speed in open cars.

Same here, it was a lot of fun!
I wonder if Tom Lester is still running bis 1908 Mercedes in this event. Ye gods what a car. He was late to a checkpoint and blew by other road traffic at about 90.. at which point the engine was turning over at a mighty 1200 rpm or something ridiculous like that!
