Preserved dinosaur embryos found inside of eggs in China

I believe it was December 2019 that we last had some fly under the radar exciting news come out of China. All I can imagine is generals of the red army sitting on clutches of eggs knowing that they will imprint upon the first thing that they see upon hatching. In order to create an unstoppable dinosaur army.

Which at this point, I can't even be mad about.

It will be interesting, once there are thousands of dinosaur are loose ravaging the world and causing general mayhem and death, what convoluted logic China will use to blame them on someone else.

In reply to aircooled :

If you don't think that we don't have clutches of dinosaur eggs in area 51, I have news for you.

The difference is China shared the news if their discovery.

I also hope that this means wet markets will reopen, because if cloned dinosaurs aren't being illegally smuggled for human consumption, what sort of society have we become?

To clarify, the story discusses embryonic skeletons, ie fossils of the babies still complete in the eggs.  No actual viable DNA involved.  But don't let that stop the fun :).

I have a family member that works in genetic research, splicing DNA, usually on fruit flies as a medium.  One year at the christmas party i polled her coworkers with my "Jurassic Park problem".  After their chorus of how the movie isn't possible, i waved that down and said, "I know, this is intended as a more fun version of the trolley problem, not real life: IF it were possible, and you could revive a T-rex, raise it as a pet, and have three good years of fun, learning, and growth, then at year 4 day 1 it goes on a rampage and eats everyone, including you, would you still do it and hatch that egg?"

Can't speak to the general population, but amongst genetic researchers the answer was unanimously yes :).

The eggs will probably get eaten as a "delicacy".

Chinese dinosaurs will be made from substandard parts and break down after 4 months.

If they are pterodactyl eggs will they become known as "Kung flew" dinosaurs? ;)

Honestly meant for a laugh, not a political incitement.
