How come I'm just finding out about them now? I see the advantage: maneuverability of a 20 with some of the stability offered by a 24-inch cruiser.

My biggest question: Black frame with black forks or black frame with chrome forks?

I'll file this under "things I also did not know about"

Looks like the BMX world is taking the lead of the MTB world where now 26 is just about obsolete, 27.5 is the new push and 29 is the standard.

I've seen a couple of guys on youtube riding 24s.

And chrome is always the answer.

I still want a 24" cruiser. I haven't been able to find one cheap enough around here to actually buy.

I definitely miss being a kid and riding my old Robinson and my hand-me-down early 80's Supergoose.

Chrome. Always chrome if it's an option.

Order placed. Black S&M frame with chrome forks and black handlebars.

Looks like the frame and fork arrive on Thursday. It's coming with bars, wheels and tires. Next, need to order the rest of the parts--most likely Profile cranks, A'me grips and then everything else from the Shadow Conspiracy.

I want a 24 or 26" cruiser to roll some dirt jumps with my boy. Yes he's only 4. Yes he rides the dirt jumps.

You did see Tom's X-Ray, didn't you? We aren't getting any younger. I managed to go over the handlebars last week. My shoulder is still sore. Fat people don't fall well.

My youngest has been watching Danny MacAskill videos for a week and there is a 2X6 and a couple of 2X4s laying in my driveway, with bike tracks all over them. I'm still wondering if that's a good thing. I foresee ramp construction in my future, and possibly a what BMX bike for a 12 year old thread.

I still ride my 24 and love it. I tried a 26 two weeks ago, and it just felt too tall for me. Granted I'm 5-8 and that particular bike was set up for my 6-foot-5 friend.

I just figured I'd see how I like the 22--call it an impulse buy. One day I need to finish my 20-inch Kappa, too. Plus I still have my 20-inch DK.

Hence why I said roll over the jumps and not jump them.

Sure...It starts with a roll, then just a little hop, before you know it, you're getting more air time than Hugh Laurie.

And this is the 26 that I tried. With the stock bars, it would have been a good fit.

I'll admit, one of the many things I've been doing while internetting on the couch while high on Percocet and using only my left hand is shop for BMX bikes.

I fully endorse this thread. Everybody falls, sometimes you aren't lucky.

I called S&M with a technical question, and they recommended that I place my order here: http://www.cheapgoodsbmx.com

Cheap Goods BMX had the frame, fork, wheels, etc., in stock. (I guess the wheels are largely on backorder.) They even offered a package with exactly what I wanted to order.

I got a Sunday Model C (24") over the winter, getting some seat time on it now and it's good fun, still working on the balance point for manuals, but I was never that good at them anyway. Had a trek 24" cruiser before but it was more racing geometry, not so much fun for just bombing around and goofing off.

I like the 24" because it's good for having fun but also good for actually getting places as a real bicycle. I have a 9 speed 26" dirt jump bike that I use in lieu of a 'real' mountain bike, but the 24" Model C is so much more fun, and a good workout because you have to stand to pedal, so it's is getting way more use nowadays.

For the record, I still love my 24-inch Floval Flyer. Call the 22 an impulse buy. I'm really eager to see how it feels, though. I think I have figured out what parts I want to order. I only found out about them last week. Yeah, I know.

And I did mention that they just reopened the skatepark located at the edge of our neighborhood, too, right? Phase 2 on the redesign is complete.

My friend and I went for the opening ceremonies. If you're over 18, no parent permission required. I didn't have my ID. They let the grey hairs count instead.

I picked up one of these last spring - 26-filth-flyerIt was new left-over stock and I got it for $400 delivered.

It is a lot more fun than my old full suspension mountain bike for riding on pavement.

I have been thinking of going single speed.

I wanted a 24", I would love a 20" but I am way too tall and fat for that.
