Since you are not looking for compensation, the answer is a new mount, new bolts, and LokTite. Torque properly.

I don’t see why you shouldn't be compensated. It sounds to me like they reused bolts that were not supposed to be reused, and may have stripped one of them on installation. Which led to the failure. it’s a stupid design, but it still should not have failed if it was installed properly. If a tire shop strips your studs and you wheel flies off, they would be responsible. They were the last ones to touch the motor mount bolt. You did not miss any recommended maintenance on that bolt, unless VW has some weird item on their maint. schedule requiring motor mount bolt torque checks every 10,000mi.. If in fact these bolts are not reusable and are supposed to be replaced, this should be easy to prove. Any bolts on your invoice?

How long ago was this timing belt change?

Most shops warranty parts for 12 months/12k miles. I'd see if it's worth going down that road if it's in that time frame.
