I've never been inside. Might be worth a stop the next time we're headed south.

Purchase one of the many removable luggage racks for miata that require no screws or bolts. I had one for my NB for long trips it was great for holding a nice size suitcase.
Ben! Come to MN. Let the wifey tour MOA, you and I can hang out and shenaniganize. Or we can go to the zoo. Or go to the Muddy Pig and get all smashed up on good beer. OR the Pirate Bar. Either way.
Ok so here's the semi-final route.

I can't really drastically alter anything at this point, but i need to figure out attractions to see/do/eat at each of the major stops.
1) Vancouver: What to do, where to go, what to eat? We'll be in this area for probably 3-4 days, planning on going out to Victoria while we're there.
2) Seattle: Same
3) Portland: Worth spending time?
4) What are the best stopping points down the coast? Particularly California
5) Worth swinging in for the Mulholland?
Any "don't miss" places/things/foods that are on the route?
If you need a food/beer break whilst passing through Tulsa let me know.

Take a look at Cannon Beach near Portland. You could also look up the guys from Corksport while in Portland. Otherwise hit Sonoma, Sausalito, Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur.

I would say first Fort Bragg/Mendocino. Second, Carmel/Monterey. Third, Santa Barbara or San Diego. Unless you're trying to cover more mileage in a day.
I also highly recommend going across 128 and down 101 through Santa Rosa unless you are trying to go by Bodega Bay: Like this.
The Columbia River Gorge is worth a side trip as is the Old Columbia River Highway (McMenamins Edgefield, Multnomah Falls, Vista House, Hood River, etc)
Of course a few miles north is Mt. St. Helens which is an awesome drive and worth checking out.
Lots of GRM'ers in the area and lots of great car culture. Depending on the time frame when you arrive in town, there may be some auto event that you can check out/attend, etc.
I'll PM you my info in case you want to get in contact while you're in the Pacific Northwest.
Stay the F out of LA if you even have the slimmest doubts about your cooling system. And value your clutch leg.

Cool, Santa Barbara was already a stopping point. (Moss Miata.)

Thanks, got the PM. I'll let you know what the plan is later this week. I'm already definitely stopping in Portland area to meet up with Boss Performance.

55mm radiator + pansy-level clutch pedal = ain't no thang.
If you stop at Cannon Beach and you're a fan of the movie "The Goonies", you'll have a pleasant surprise.
Love Canon Beach. Went out to Seattle/Portland 2 summers ago for the first time and we drove out there. Beautiful area. I would move to the PNW in a heart beat.

There's actually more of the Goonies filmed in and around Astoria. They even have a early celebration there and a tour.
You'll need to log in to post.
