Hello everyone!

Of Cars and Cowboys: The Story of Alberta's Motorsports Heritage

Linked above is a project which I feel will be of interest to people here...

My name is Randy, I'm from the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and I have a Documentary concerning Canadian Motorsports History planned for production from May of this year until next year.

My province of Alberta has a long history, more than 100 years, of motor racing. Beginning in the earliest days when cars used the same horse tracks and rodeo grounds that so defines our ranching and agrarian roots... to the time when we diversified in livelihood and became mechanized, became an energy producer, while our renowned track hosted Formula 5000 and Can Am...

Nowadays, we can barely hold on to Indy, our tracks are closing left and right, and even motorsport disciplines held on other spots can barely hold on to their venues (autocross, hillclimbs and the like).

This is why I have made it my mission to make a full length documentary about our motorsports heritage. I feel that 100 years is a story deserving of this.... While I understand that very few people here can probably relate to this place, you can probably relate to the story...

So please, check out the link above, give it a thorough read, and at the very least, share that link around to everyone.

We need as much exposure regarding this. Not just for the film, but for Canada's motorsports future.

Sincerely

R. Gulinao
