So almost two years ago I started exercising and eating better. At the time I was fat (hell, technically obese), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sky high triglycerides, wonky sugars, etc. The typical quintessential out of shape american blob.
Just got the blood test results and a physical. 100% wonderfullness. Every blood test is fine. Not close, not sorta ok, but absolutely terrific. Every one of them.
Bonus, my resting heart rate was 57! A petty goal of mine was to get it down to under 60 (had been 90+).
"Eat less, move more". That's going to be the name of my smash best seller book.

Well done indeed. It's just too bad that exercise is so boring and healthy food doesn't taste as good as bad food.
Yes, I know, there are ways around both, but it takes commitment on both counts. Good work getting it together!

It's all in your head.
I've all but given up drinking. My new intoxicants are healthy food and exercise! What a rush!
Awesome!!! I've gone the opposite way, but now working for the reverse. Great job!
I need to post this same thread in about 1-2 years as well. I'm at basically my fitness low. Moving, new job, and 2 babies have conspired to make me overweight and out of shape. I keep trying to get going but it is hard to start.

I exercize and eat less during the day to account for my alcohol intake.

Foxtrapper: Good job! I hope to be where you are in about another year or so. About 6 months ago I started going to the gym at lunch instead of grabbing fast food. I usually cook and freeze something healthy (chicken, broccoli, brown rice, etc) on Sundays, then just grab a container in the mornings. So far I’m only down about 10# total, but the wife says I look and carry myself totally differently, and as of my last physical I got a “whatever you’re doing, keep it up” from the doctor. My goal now is to break a sweat at least once a day. Normally it’s weights at lunchtime and treadmill after the kids go to bed at night. A treadmill is cheap. A gym membership is cheap. Heart disease, diabetes, dying early – those are expensive.
The impetus for all this was doc saying “if you don’t fix it yourself, I’ll have to put you on statins for your screwed up cholesterol-” so I’m hoping I can pull off the rest of what you have. Congrats again.
Congratulations. I'm going to pick up some muscle building protein crap today. I'm 125 of all muscle and would like to be more around 135-140 of all muscle, so I'm looking to gain.
I'm sure your heart and lungs thank you.
Good on ya! Any before and after pics?

GOMAD. That and a linear lifting plan like Starting Strength is the best thing for the skinny-fat like yourself.
Also a good idea is the famous squatz and oatz.
"eat less, move more" is bullE36 M3. you need to eat nothing but grapefruit! "eat less, move more" will never work!
