The random responses from celebrities.
Cool, isn't it??? It's amazing how accessible some celebrities are. It's a very cool tool if you avoid all of the idiocy it can expose.
I had a tweet answered by Howard Stern last week and it ended up getting retweeted/favorited a LOT. Some other musicians have answered stuff and quite a few just find my tweets if it involves them (I'm guessing there's a twitter alert function if you get mentioned?)
My twitter is a music digest for the most part, thus the musician attention. @iamchrisgam for the shameless plug.
Rutledge Wood is a "celebrity" now?
i got George Takei to respond to one of my responses to one of his facebook posts one time... freakin Sulu took time out of his busy day to interact with me...
Mike Rowe "liked" something i posted on one of his facebook posts..

WARNING GIANT LETDOWN AHEAD
He had hired a squad of comedians to handle his social media presence.
I got a little excited when I've had questions or comments responded to by Bob Varsha and David Hobbs a couple times.
To keep up with current news its also really neat, like Gamby said though, so long as you can wade through the idiocy of it.
In reply to GameboyRMH:
True. I have farmed mine out to a group of young girls in Cambodia. Though for those of you into young Cambodian girls that may not be such a disappointment.
Twitter is one of the best things to use to follow racing. I've had many interactions directly with the series, drivers, and teams. It is a lot of fun, especially during endurance races of 12 or 24 hours.
It's interesting isn't it? Matthew Modine responded to a couple of mine, and I was "chatting" with the two Jaguar designers, Ian Callum and Wayne Burgess the other night.
In reply to Lesley:
I follow you and I see that Ralph Gilles responds to a lot of your replies to him. That's pretty cool.
I enjoy Twitter, too--neat way to interact with people, hear news the moment it happens, etc. I once got guitar pick info from Rob Caggiano--formerly of Anthrax, now with Volbeat.
Right now I'm being followed by Gerald Casale (Devo) and Vernon Reid (Living Colour). Never thought that would happen when I signed up.
I figure Facebook is for friends and family, while Twitter and Instagram are for public stuff.
By the way, some of my favorite Twitterers:
https://twitter.com/TheRealOderus (Not PC at all, so be warned.)
https://twitter.com/AlexSkolnick (Great guitar and life lessons.)
https://twitter.com/AndyLally (The real life of a pro racer.)
https://twitter.com/TheWookieeRoars (Yes, the real Chewbacca.)
https://twitter.com/michaelianblack (Again, not for the kids.)
https://twitter.com/TheNecrosexual (So grim.)
https://twitter.com/RobCaggiano (Such a nice young man.)
Oh, and one more: https://twitter.com/Saudiwoman
It's the Twitter account for a lady who lives in Saudi Arabia--and would like to drive a car every now and then. Interesting to see what happens whenever she and her friends go for a drive.

This is great, thanks for that link.

If you guys want one, sure, we can start one.
Twitter rules.
Aside from interacting with David, I use it to follow news agencies, sports teams, and musicians to get news before the news gets the news. The direct communication with "famous" people is pretty cool too. A couple that I follow that you should be aware of:
@_FloridaMan: Crazy news stories from FL, (example: naked Florida Man Threatens Deputies with Large Weaponized Clock)
@_Flor1daWoman: Same deal as above, but with women
@metalsucks: Handle for MetalSucks.com, with funny heavy metal news
@davidcoverdale: Singer for 80's hair metal band Whitesnake, and pretty much the George Takei of the 80's hair metal world, except he does his own tweets. You can tell.
There are more, I'll post them later. And The Iron Sheik is THE REAL.
You'll need to log in to post.
