OK, so I'm sick. I don't get sick very often but when I do, I'm freaking sick. I'm in and out of it all day, painting the inside of the toilet bowl with a wide palette of colors and coughing up what looks like raw bread dough and just generally feeling like crap.
Just now a buddy of mine calls me to offer me a free, 6th row ticket to see the mighty Red Wings tonight. Did I say 6th row!?!?!? I have been wanting to see wings play for a long time and don't have the money. CRAP!!
To make matters worse I don't have cable, or any other means to watch the game.

Dangit I need a job!

Just about an hour before leaving, mix up a double dose of Neo-Citran and scotch. You will feel much better, and may not even notice the load in your pants after the first intermission.

Just take along a video camera so you can refresh your memory of the game, cause you may forget some of the highlights.

You're a doctor, you should be able to prescribe a remedy to alleviate your pains.

oh and I was feeling the same way when I came back from Sebring. Went to the doctor and they simply told me to take behind the counter advil could and sinus....

It's like thanks, the money I could have used to purchase that I used for co-pay and the hours I spent in the waiting room because I called out of work.

The only thing I can prescribe is a bigger impeller. Oh well, I spend the evening at home with the kids. That's fun too.

Why do they call Chicago the windy city?

Cause Detroit sucks, St. Louis blows, and we get caught in the middle.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Blackhawks haven't won a cup since I've been born. In fact, I think I was -11. Since the last time Chicago has had a cup. Then you gotta go back like 3 decades before that before you can find another cup year. They were good in the 30's though if that makes you feel better (won twice in the 30's)
Total cups to date:
Chicago 3 (I'm pretty sure) Detroit 11.
Were you even alive when they last won a cup??

Oh, and it's currently 4 to 1.

Disclaimer I'm heavily medicated right now. I could be not making ANY sense right now, or could be totally wrong. But I can't let some guy get down on the greatest team to play hockey since Ug hit a rock accross a frozen pond with a thigh bone. Especially when the Cup hasn't been there in half a decade.

Dr. boost check out either channelsurfing or Justin TV and you should be able to watch the game online. I don't have a TV so you have to know where to look.

Good luck and hopefully you feel better. I got sick from all the pollen and crap in the air come spring so you aren't alone.

The Red Wings are good, but I don't particularly like them. I don't hate em (I reserve Philly, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Washington, New Jersey and Tampa for that list), but I don't like em. The Blackhawks have always seemed like a classy organization and bunch of players. But I'm still Hurricanes all the way.

They hadn't been a classy organization since the 60's. Bill Wirtz was probably the greediest owner in all of sports. I can't think of a single sports owner worse than him. When he died, his son quickly un-did a lot of his wrongs, and look at what happened--its the biggest team in town (next to the Cubs).

And I think you meant whalers.

I think the greatest team in hockey history was the famed Soviet team. Actually, almost everything you said is correct, or close to it. But it just proves my point, we have to put up with it!!!!

For what it's worth, in an anonymous poll of 50 NHL players, 32% said they expect the Blackhawks to clinch the Cup this year, higher than any other team. I don't like that; I wanna hear it's Carolina! And that's Carolina - Hartford didn't want 'em, they infected us with hockey fever so we're keeping them

And correct on the 'hawks "always" being a classy team. That was dumb; no one can forget Bill. What I should say is "recently," and what his son has done. And their fans and players, in particular.
