Well I have some of that to!!!! You should see my roommates room! I just mean I am going to destroy the scotch or a couple of the bottles of bourbon because they are too good to just destroy.
As a homebrewer, I am allowed to brew 100gallons/year for my own consumption. With another person sharing the apartment with me, that is upped to 200gallons/year.
I don't think I'm going to go through quite that much though.
Wuss.
When I moved into the house I lived in for four years during university, we found three recycle bins full of empty liquor bottles in the shed. No two alike, someone had a plan! We also found 22 empty recycle bins and a full set of street signs for about a 3 block radius. Stop, Yield, street names, Bicycles Keep Right, the whole lot.

That's rather impressive. Take a lot of work to get ALL the street signs.

I just did the math. We're at about 240 gallons/year
It's a good thing I make it strong.

Narrow end of the bell curve, buddy. It's the place to be.

Is that just a California thing or the whole US. How would they regulate that?

You ARE aware of the role of yeast in brewing beer, aren't you?
Your wife came with a text book? Damn I wish mine had one so I could figure out what the hell she's talking about.
I drink about half a gallon of milk a week. I drink maybe 12 beers and half a dozen each of mixed drinks and wine in a year. It's not that I don't like it or anything, I just usually don't bother.
this is based off of what? what people tell their doctors. yes doctor, i only drink a beer a night and maybe a couple drinks on the weekend.
I see ppl daily who claim to drink 6-12 cans of beer a day. I dont know how they function.
Hard liquor drinkers are rarer but since they opened the new liquor store across the street from my office, it is funny to watch the comings and goings. There are some very distinct patterns.

Honor System. If you're caught selling it though......

that says we only get 2.18 Gallons of alcohol per year (alcohol itself not beer or wine)..
In 1830 or so we did 3.9 Gallons of alcohol per year per capita.

Easy math. Total beer sold in the US divided by the number of people above legal drinking age in the US.
If you want, you can substitute the number of people above X age in the US if you think every 18-year-old is taking part in the annual consumption :)
I'm drawing the avg's down (alcohol wise) now.... but from my late 20's to my late 40's I drank from 12 - 18 bottles of beer a night .... 5 nights a week.... with very very few missed nights.... eventually even people like me grow up....

Oh yes. The yeast consume sugar and their waste product is co2 and alcohol. It is not the biology that grosses me out about milk, it is the product itself.
Milk is cholesterol laden, dead white blood cells and pus (legally no more than 750,000 somatic cells per mL). It is a product designed by nature to turn a 20lb calf into a 600lb cow as rapidly as possible and I feel in no way should be consumed by a human. Even the calcium in milk (its main selling point) is very difficult for the human body to absorb and that is why milk has vitamin D added to it, so that you can absorb a fraction of it.
Bottom line is. I am not a calf therefore I have no business drinking cows milk. Look at how much the RDA of dairy has dropped since the 50's. Take a look at the general quality of health and obseity in nations that generally don't consume dairy products.
I am not some vegan either. I will eat a cow (in moderation) but I aint drinking its milk.
