My neighbor has one, and loves it, and I've noticed they seem to go pretty cheap compared to other stuff I'm looking at. It is somewhat larger than I want, but at least it's not Tahoe/Suburban-sized.

My brother has one with the 4.2. It's just turned over 200k miles, has had a rear axle go, the trans has been rebuilt and he just put a junkyard engine in it too. I'm not impressed. Oh yeah, the CEL has been his constant companion since shortly after the emissions warranty expired. That's the only thing that has worked right.

Test drove this Highlander today: http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5171297277.html

Price seemed high to me for a private owner vehicle, and the owner's not willing to come down much. However, seems like similar cars on dealer's lots the asking price is around $12-13K around here.

Seriously considering it, though. Was nice and comfortable, everything seemed to work, and minimal rust underneath. Appears regular maintenance was done, too, based on the stack of records the owner had.

In reply to 92dxman:

Nice, although I made a deal for the Highlander. Hopefully getting it on Saturday
