Just curious if this is the latest fad. I'm seeing more and more pickup trucks with massive air horn setups bolted into their beds or roofs or such. They delight in scaring the heck out of people with them, usually in parking lots.

I have a small air horn under the hood of my F150. I'm thinking of putting the same model under my Ranger's hood.
I do have a friend with dual train horns under the bed of his F250 run by an air tank that barely has enough compression for them. It won't scare you, but It'll make you E36 M3 yourself from a block away.
It's a common setup on brotato trucks. Nobody runs crazy-loud air horn setups by me (we have only maybe a dozen brotatos driving around in total). The offroad crowd likes sensible air horns for functional reasons, and buses and route taxis love them some Dixie horns.
One of the few times I might endorse automotive vandalism. Thats douchebaggery up there with towing an open-piped drag car to a cruise-in and revving the engine as you roll through the crowd.
yea some of the bro-dozers had them when i was down at college, when you already have a 12" lift and 8" stack out of the bed you gotta find something to spend daddys money on.
although i did have an AWOOGA! horn on my mk1 mr2, people usually got a kick out of that
I am crossing my fingers as hard as I can that this fad avoids my area. There are so many absurdly lifted, stack in the bed, coal rolling trucks here that seeing an unmodified pickup is shocking.
Even the landscape crew trucks have at least 6" lifts and silly extended stingers so they can tow their little utility trailers.
Yeah there are a couple of trucks with legit train horns mounted in the bed that like to show up at the lot and randomly blow them so everyone jumps. At one point I stopped going to hang out there because I would have beaten the guy had he kept doing it.
If not Miata, is spray foam the answer? No, I don't advocate vandilism, but the horns suck a big one.
I have a small hand held air horn in my Opel GT. Participated in a TSD rally and had to have a horn to pass tech. That's when I found out the horn in the Opel didn't work. It did when I put it in, not well but did work.
I have some small airhorns on the disco.. but only because somebody had removed one of the factory horns. I am not talking loud and obnoxious.. more melodious
actually havent seen any too obnoxious horns around here. but I have seen several youtube vidoes of them sneaking up on pedestrians and its berkeleying funny.
I wish I had something that loud on my bikes AND in my truck but only when towing. I'm so sick of people cutting me off when I'm towing a loaded car trailer.
only on youtube have I seen it but some douche tried to diesel smoke me as he left his buddies last night as I was on my exercise walk.

should try it when towing 5000 pounds of boat. It is "fun" to watch their faces when they start to merge right behind you and suddenly realize there is a large amount of heavy glassfibre looming above them
There are a couple here. I kinda expect to get grief from them while I'm driving about in the Volt. Of course, the Volt has the "pedestrian alert" polite horn. I might honk back.
