Some interesting vehicles at the airshow this weekend, both flying and earth-bound. Check out this shorty Dodge Ram:

It made me chuckle. Or how about the front ball-joint on this WWII military truck:

Or some cool WWII Jeeps:

The Grassroots Award goes to this sucker. If you can see the shiny spots all over the side of the plane you will get a sense of how epic the oil leak was! They had sacks of oil-dri on the ground,...no word on how long it flew gushing oil like that.

They has a C17 Globemaster there and it was very large, but it was dwarfed by the C5A Galaxy!

Any my personal favorite, the T-37.

Long enough, it would appear...
Isn't it normal for those to leak like that? It seems like those (and other similar planes) always have a pretty big puddle underneath them.
Radial engines always barf out oil. It sits in the lower cylinders and seeps out. Ever see a ground crew pulling a prop around a few times? Its to clear the oil out so they don't bend valves.
Fun fact: Stand off to the side when a round engine fires up, or you'll be wearing that oil.
I recall being at an airshow about 20 years ago and informing the nice Airman standing guard by an F16 (iirc) that a. there was a nice puddle of fuel leaking under one of the wings and b. some moron was standing smoking about 10' away from said leak. He moved pretty quickly...
That's a T-38.
The T-37 looks much less imposing:

Ah, one of the long bed trucks. Ours were several feet shorter. How short? The rear axle was under the cab of the truck.

The only jet in which the crew chief literally looks down on the pilot.
But the T-37 has more combat time (a the A-37).

Sorry, T-38 (took wood shop instead of typing!). The radial engine still amazes me. Anyone else remember the Screaming Mimi?

There's a vehicle that shows up at the local antique trusk show every year, a Vietnam era truck to haul jet engines from the hangar to the runway. Fourwheel steering and noisey as hell.
It's at 2:35 or so.
