Technically a repost but since you know where the big guns are I will let it slide.

Couldn't see a thing, just skip intro and a blank. But there is NOTHING that could make me re-enlist. NOTHING. Well, maybe Christie Brinkley, but I'd get out the next day when I sobered up.

Why? I tried to get back in within two months of being discharged.

If I were 17 and had to do it again I would look at the Coast Guard. The experience and things learned would apply better to my life now (active in sailing & charter) than how I spent my four years.

If I had it to do over again, I'd have still gone into the Navy, but I'd have told them to take their $9,000 enlistment bonus for going into the "Advanced Electronics and Computer Field" (which required a 2-year extension and didn't deal much with computers!) and shove it. I'd have been much better off coming in as an Aviation Machinist's Mate, which was my rate upon discharge.

Mental is back with his beloved outdated 70's technology.

Maybe we could afford a new plane if we quit spending money on custom cars...
