There is no way you could be more wrong. To anybody who doesn't like a BJ; what you need is a different GF.

Or, a girlfriend at all. However, I don't think my wife would approve.

I guess I just prefer "the real thing".

Used to only have OTA TV, but the GF can't live without several of her shows that are only on cable so I now have at least basic cable. She also can't be around to watch most thing live due to work, so needs some form of DVR capability.

I've tried to convince her that the few things she does watch that are not available OTA can be easily gotten online, and that I can for less than the monthly cable bill set up my iMac as a DVR for OTA shows or for a few month's cable bill pick up an OTA DVR that would be as easy to program as the current cable DVR- but she's not convinced. This will get revisited when we move to a new place...

^^I do just that with a mac mini. I added eyetv to it for my DVR functions, and the internet can get me anything I want to watch. Cable/Satelite is for suckas

I have made some inroads in convincing her that I'm not kidding about what can be done with it... last week when the POTUS made his Syria speech,it berked up the DVR's recording of the finale of SYTYCD by pushing it back half an hour so the last half was cut off in the recording. The next morning I get a message at work from the GF bemoaning this fact. Less than half an hour later I've used my phone and the remote access to my computer at home to download and start converting over the episode for playback over the AppleTV, and could tell her it would be ready for her to watch when she got back from work that evening. She was quite pleased.

ohmygoodgoshalmighty no!

It took a lot, but I finally hit my breaking point. I have 7 resumes out as we speak.

My advice: Get out! Get out of your job while you are still "you".

Amen. Military for me though. 5 more years and retirement check for life. 1-2 more years until I (hope hope hope) will be flying again. Life must be better than being an office drone.

No, that's not an "odd" place, it's an "uncomfortable" place.

If I ran into another GRMer in the back of a volkswagen, it'd be a little more than just "uncomfortable".

...who can't heel/toe to save his life?
I could on my old mini, but I think that's about the only car I could do it on. I thought about this yesterday when, upon trying to do a nice match-revved downshift in my golf. I raised the RPM by 3 and dang near put teeth marks on the steering wheel. FAIL

It depends utterly on the car. It was pretty easy in my old ACR Neon, and it's smooth and effortless in my E46. But in the Manic Miata, it's clunky and barely doable. Unfortunately.

What Duke said. Easy as hell on the Escort. Easy as hell on both my Miatas.

IMPOSSIBLE on my old Celicas. Borderline impossible on the MX6.

Did you do anything to facilitate it? I am amazed that with the pedals so close together in my NA, I can barely keep one toe on the brakes while still hitting the gas. And I have a BIG big toe. Big enough that my wife jokes about it.

I do have a race seat, but I can't imagine the move would be much easier without it.

I have size 9 feet and wear skinny Pumas if that matters? Both are completely stock in the pedal area. Heel/side of foot on gas, toes on brake.
