I forgot it was Prime day and was busy with work and then working on the floating dock I am building. Mrs T.J. bought some stuff that she wanted, but nothing for me.

That is when you definitely never have any scheduled devices cleaning a floor or otherwise running loose in your house without having eyes on the room and closing the dog out of it first. Most of the poop stories involve scheduled roomba runs and I've never, ever used the scheduling feature even though I have no dogs. Even just cat puke would be gross enough that I would dispose of everything in a fire. (Up to and including the cat if I had my way.)
With Prime day, I got a cross line laser. I've wanted one for a long time and just sold my old commercial quality dot laser for way more than I think it should have been worth, so I treated myself. Half off tools doesn't happen often!

Scheduling had nothing to do with it. Like I said, it simply has limitations. There was a time when it was great for us, and there probably will be again someday. But right now it's faster, easier, and more reliable to just quickly vacuum the house once a week rather than follow all of the protocols necessary to safely and effectively run a Roomba ~3x per week in a pet/toddler filled house.
I can report that cat vomit does not have the sticking power of dog poop, and does not track far at all.

Good to know...But are we talking about the hairball variety, the empty stomach bile variety, or the less-than-half-digested meal variety?
Mostly the first two, the cleaning schedule and the feeding schedule mean that the "I ate too fast" mode happens after cleaning time. But even then - the stuff's too watery to stick to the Roomba much. It'll make a small mess but not a poopapocalypse.
Prime Day was not for me. Hit the main Prime Day page on the night before and saw it had something like 375 pages. Eff that, there can't be anything I need bad enough to spend the time required to search through all that...
