Hey my names mike. Im 21 and reside in florida. Ive always been into motorsport and ive been thinking about getting into karting in the stock moto 125cc shifter kart class to hone my skills. But on the side i was able to pick up a mint condition stock te72 liftback with the 1.8 3tc. When i look at it, it reminds me of berg cup scirrocco s. So i plan one day to make it that way( widebody and all) . Until then its my daily driver and i have much to do. Starting with suspension i will work my way to where i want it to be. My future plans are a gen 3 or gen 2 3sgte. When i strip it and reinforce the car it should be in the 1800-1900 lbs range and the power it creates should be plenty. The plan is corner handling and swiftness..With a new intake and turbo mani. Well designed intercooler piping a new stronger and more efficient/ faster spooling turbo that will keep me im the 260-300whp and a little bump in compression it will be plenty fast as well as reliable since it can make that type of power in stock trim ( gen3) (gen2 with little work) I want an engine that revs like an n/a engine without it being as high strung. Its seems the most realistic/reliable money wise while keeping it toyota. One day when its retired as a road car and i get better at driving and increase my knowledge on suspension i will widebody it and rebuild the engine with lightened internals a little higher compression and some mild headwork. I have a long way to go especially with my mechanical skills but there are plenty of resourses around here which can help me. Glad to be here. Heres a pic of the car as it is. <img src="Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos" />

Lol thanks man. I was going to get an mr2 at first and i saw this a few streets down from my house sitting im the backyard with a for sale sign and i had to get it. Zero rust, runs great although the tranny is sloppy but its 34 years old so i can see why. It has drilled rotors up front and the xxr rims arent too bad although im going to sell them eventually. I got it for 2500$ not a bad deal at all. The only problem is the window falls off track if the door is slammed hard but thats an easy fix. Everything else is bone stock but the car is surprisingly nimble for bein and an oldie

You are among friends---- I had a 1980 Corolla 2door sedan with the 3TC back in H.S. and college. I loved that little thing. It took ridiculous amounts of abuse and continued to run like a champ.....until I rolled it.

I'd love to find another, as most have returned to the earth.
