Enjoy.
That guy deserved every bit of grief that Samuel L. gave to him. How the heck does anyone attempt an interview without doing some research on the subject first? I'm only a hack journalist but I pride myself on conducting excellent interviews.
I doubt the issue in this case is that the news guy really thinks all black people look the same. I think he is just an idiot in general.
That guy is local to me. He's a bit of a tool, but seems to have a good relationship with many celebrities since they are local for him. I am sure he knows the difference, he probably just F'd up his prep (got lazy).
My favorite part is the "can we talk about Robocop?", "ohhhh Heeellll nooo!"
I think this was primarily about celebrities in general looking alike.
Also, this was a missed opportunity to show some class and empathy and to defuse racial tension and to demonstrate that you don’t take yourself too seriously.
I’ll probably get flamed for saying this but I don’t care, I accept that I’m relic from a bygone era that valued nice…get off my lawn!

It seemed to me Samuel L Jackson was joking...
It seemed like an honest mistake. He was screwing with the reporter and not taking it too seriously. It's too bad the reporter looked like he was so afraid of being fired for being a racist that he couldn't enjoy getting abused for a few minutes.
We saw this the other night the first thing that popped into my head after Samuel L Jackson said "We don't all look alike" was to say "Of course not Mr. Poitier." I probably wouldn't have kept my job long.
Oh, yea. Samuel L Jackson was playing. Maybe irritated by the comment, but he took the moment to be himself and berkeley with the reporter.
FWIW, I confused he and Laurence Fishburne before when trying to remember who was in a movie for drinking trivia purposes. Just, not, you know... to their faces when I was a professional news anchor.
EDIT: I can never look at this photo w/o cracking up.

Buwahahahahaha, he looks less than amused.

That's his "Here's Johnny" face, not his "Joker" face.
I think that was one of the best things that could happen to you in a job like that. Those interviews always look so impersonal, but having a famous bad ass lay into you on TV is something you can tell the grandkids about.
i've mixed them up in my head before.
a good way to tell them apart: one was on Peewee's Playhouse:
the other one was beat up by Eddie Murphy with a mop:
we all know what's going to happen now: they are going to star in a movie where they play twins that were separated at birth and meet each other while one of them robs the bank that the other one works at.. much wackiness will happen, and it will be the biggest movie of the 2014 holiday movie season...
