I just caught the end of the reveal. Wasn't he in a couple of episodes in the David Tennant era and Torchwood?

As someone who has tried unsuccessfully to get into Who a couple times now...
seems like a high turnover rate.

Yup, "The Fires of Pompeii" was his Dr Who episode. Also notable for being Karen Gilliam's pre-companion Who role.

Yeah.....I really liked some of the last doctor's "Come at me bro" speeches (atraxi and pandorica) but they did too much of that. I'd like to see the new doctor be slightly less of a pacifist. (In the Tom Baker era I think that was a lot less significant)
