Is there an app that simplifies facebook and removes all outgoing sync/connections from my phone?

I wouldn't mind being able to keep on my facebook messages, groups, etc, but I don't want my phone communicating with facebook in any way. I want a facebook "read only" of sorts.

Whenever my fb asks to sync I just say no

FWIW, I've found simply logging onto facebook via the browser to be faster an more private than using any of the apps. The apps also hog memory, especially the main FB app.

Same thing I do. No need for the app, just use it as a browser, and some of the privacy issues go away. You won't get notifications without actually checking the page, but it sounds like this is okay with you.

This goes double for the stupid messenger app. Not sure if its true or not (since I haven't and will not download it), but supposedly they now can listen in on the phone's microphone while you are typing a message.

This, 100% this. The Android FB app is horrific in terms of resource use and privacy. At one point, it wouldn't even let me disable the location in my posts. So, I completely disabled it and use Facebook's mobile site in my browser. It's faster and lets me have better privacy control.

You'll need to log in to post.
