I was on the fence about the SS after we got Rowdy, because I'm still gonna be 200 hp short. Gonna be kinda comical, in a few days we'll have over 1000 hp sitting in the driveway while a broken Corvair occupies the garage.

I have nightmares of my last 2 rod bearing failures.... I'm almost certain they were from ripping on it before it had sufficient oiling. Both were Chevy engines.
My service manager has an SS, he likes to do a small burnout while leaving work.
I smile and point out that while I am down a couple dozen horsepower, I can use all of it from a stop

I didn't ask today when I added the SS. Rowdy added $8k per year. Yes, that is insane. But so is the car. We currently have six cars with broad form collision, $1000 deductible, in the state with the highest rates in the entire country. Two of these cars will go away this summer, and one will be replaced next spring.

Wire transfer cleared while the seller and I were having a couple damn good burgers and some killer onion rings at Kenny's Burger Joint in Frisco TX. We left there at 1PM, headed north. I dropped the seller at his house and beat feet for, well, no particular stopping point other than as close to home as I could get, which turned out to be Lebanon MO, 450 miles from Frisco. Pic dump:

Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan. 450 miles yesterday, 710 miles today. Paid a brief visit to one part of the Bad Decision Triangle. Thanks for the break, Gumby! Worst traffic of the whole trip was getting across the north side of Indy at 4PM.
i dig the car. It makes the right noises. It can be hustled through corners. It's pretty comfortable. It has heated / cooled seats and Bluetooth audio.
OMG I'm exhausted. Going to bed now, will update tomorrow.
