The EX gf is thinking of getting one. There is one here in town with 21K miles for 18K
If she gets it I will be the one working on it.

Working on your ex's car? Huh?
I did drive one, it was painfully slow with no storage, but sounded good.

Um...what do you drive everyday if it was painfully slow? Sub 5 seconds to 60, quarter mile is 12 to 13 seconds stock. Mine recorded a 4.6 to 60 and a 12.1 quarter stock.
To the original OP, mine had a few issues (sold at 32K). The only major was a replacement of the body control module at 25k or so. The big money eater is the tires. I couldn't get the rears to last more than 14k, and that was driving them easy. They're fairly large, so they are expensive. I always liked the way it drove on the Pilots, but you can get Kumhos to fit that are much cheaper.
Also, the paint on these is thin, so any bird droppings, etc., need to be dealt with asap to protect it.
All in all, I really miss mine and wish I hadn't sold it. It was a 2011 Touring Sport.
Yeah, they're pretty fast cars. I think they're a bit "long in the tooth", but damn fun cars.
Is this ex paying you? How?
Wasn't it a 370Z that suffered the catastrophic brake failure during a magazine testing (on a track)?
And we all are curious about why you'd be working on an ex's car. Amy?

In reply to KyAllroad:
Yea the 370 had some brake over heating issues.
I seem to recall something about the cooling system sends it into limp mode too.
That's track stuff though. For fun street use that becomes a nonissue.
In reply to ProDarwin:
Yeah....the road tests all say more like ~13.5, and 0-60 in ~5.1...which let's be honest, is still plenty quick.
I guess I am spoiled, my nice daily drivers have been... Supercharged C5 Corvette (530 horse to the wheels), E55 AMG with all the bolt ons (no dyno sheet but runs 11s) and a 400 horse Powerstroke. Monthly fuel bill be like.... My bad weather daily is a WRX with an exhaust and all the Cobb bits.
So yeah - 370Zs are slow.

Maybe there's some service-for-service exchange going on?

Not according the to the drag strip timing system.
Thanks Guys.
As far as the Ex thing goes, We are much better friends than together, and she pays going dealership rates,
Her 2001 Impala is slowly falling apart and last week the driverside window regulator and primary computer both gave up the ghost on the way home from work on the same day. I had replaced the secondary computer a couple years ago when it locked her out, that was the cheap one.
The 370 she found has 21K miles for 18K with an extended service plan so she is thinking about it.
thedanimal wrote: Curious on these as well. My colleague wants to buy one, how's the road noise on these?
Not great. It's probably one of the reasons mine is gone. Much noisier than the BRZ that replaced it. I spent some time in a G37 Coupe once, and the difference in noise levels was quite apparent. I would assume something like Dynamat would do wonders however.
Road noise is the only reason one is not in my driveway. It felt louder than the miata I drove to the car dealer in. I didn't even make an offer to them.
