I've gotten a couple of PMs this weekend. Every time I try to reply, it gets booted back with a failure notice. It been that way for a long time. I use Yahoo Mail.
Is there a workaround? Is is dumb.

Read deep into that failure notice email. It should say what email address it can't send to. Then, just write to that address directly.
