I have a sign made from some sort of soft wood that I would like to have set in resin/epoxy. We only hang it outside on days/nights when we are using the pizza oven. It was a gift and don't want it ruined should it get wet. I've already left it outside one evening as too many adult beverages were consumed and I totally forgot. I don't want it to happen again, so having an epoxy/resin pour done over it should do what I want. It's 18" round and 3/4" thick.
I've never done it before, so I don't want to practice on this sign. Anyone here into this?
The sign I want to have set.

I do a lot of work with epoxy, but not the type you need. Just a caution to make sure you use something that is UV-stable, or it will turn yellow in the sun.
that is an awesome gift btw!
I'd find a shop that does it and get a quote. It's pretty tough to get all of the bubbles out, so it might be worth paying for experience. Epoxy filing wood cracks is much easier than something like this, and that takes a good bit of time and patience.
Youtube, Blacktail studio. He does live edge epoxy tables, and there seems to be some really good detail in his videos.
The bros do it. I'll forward them this thread and see what they say.
