Before my wife was my wife she had surgery that required me to spend a week taking care of her. My boss said he'd cover the work and all would be well when I got back. Not what happened. He decided I could just miss the week and work 16 hours a day instead of 10-12 until I was caught up.
I got my wife healthy and headed back to work. I was there less than 12 hours when I sent in my resignation. I told them I'd finish the job because I had a sense of pride in getting it done well, but they'd never see me back in the office again. Before the job was done my bosses boss fired him for being an incompetent jerk and asked me to stay. I was there for nearly another year.
