No, but we are getting crazy high winds coming from the south (this never happens) and it is getting colder, which makes little sense meterologically since cold winds normally come from across the lake, which is Northeast Ohio's primary import from Canada.

This is what I was greeted with on my way home yesterday.  Covered in ice, on the way in to work it was 37 degrees and dry.

Only going to have gotten a day and a half of work in this week due to daycare closures. They already called it for tomorrow due to an expected 1-3 inches here.

I left the mountains partially because I was tired of the fluffy white bullE36 M3. Thankfully I still have my mountain spec snowblower.

No snow on the east side of the state, just cold. I typically won't even fire up the garage heater below 25° so it looks like I'll be lucky to get a weekend in.

My oldest son moved to your neck of the woods (GR) back in May of this year so this is his first taste of a western Michigan winter.  I think your average annual snowfall is about double ours so it should be interesting for him although with no driveway to shovel or car to remove snow from it might not be as big of a deal.

We've gotten probably about a foot over the past week. A bunch melted yesterday but we got more last night. That's a lot of snow for the eastern shore.

I gave up on winter yesterday. As an ice cream truck drove through the neighborhood the roofing crew across the street ran out and stopped it. I got to listen to an 8-bit version of"Turkey in the straw" for 5 minutes while they bought stuff.

Then a mosquito bit me.

Winter blows.

A coworker went from Bradenton, where he has lived within ~50 miles of for all his life, to Wisconsin for a test we are having run.  I volunteered to go as I like the cold, and he can't stand it, but they chose him.

When he left it was about 75 degrees here..  It was -9 or so when he landed.  He said he was gonna buy some electric boots.

And in today's news the ice cream truck came by again, but the crew had left.  I know I'm being sour, but decades being subjected to heat and humidity has made me wish for lands where I don't explode into sweat when I venture outside.

Yesterday morning was 7" of snow and 18 degrees.  Today I woke up to 14 degrees.

Tell me again why I moved back north?  Here I am burning wood and natural gas to stave off hypothermic death when I could be in SoCal with the windows open.

Well, at least you can count on the smell of burning in either place.

We're good up north.  But be sure to talk to us I. August when it's been 98 with 98% humidity for nearly a month.

Which is why I spotted the below bumper sticker in traffic the other day.

You guys always say you're good, then winter comes along and our roads are filled with yankees.

In Michigan I love the snow, without it we get a few months of mostly gray.  Snow offers some brightness, our % of winter sun is very low,if the snow melts it gets dark.  This is especially true in west Michigan due to the big lake the west.  On a real cold winter it will freeze al the way across the we turn into Minnesota with cold and sun.
