I'm trying to find the outside dimensions a 1.5 inch copper cap.  I assume it's the same size as any 1.5 inch copper fitting.  Anyone that can measure it for me or maybe know if there's a standard wall thickness on the fittings?

See if it is type L, M, or K - https://www.thespruce.com/types-of-copper-piping-844852

Then go someplace like engineeringtoolbox.com and look up the dimensions.

Stampie, the link below is to one of the major copper fitting manufacturers.  Open the "2D Sales drawing" that's shown on the list to the right on the page, the dimensions are on the drawing.

1.74 inches.  That did it in seconds.  I swear I couldn't find it searching.  Duke I'm sure yours would work but 11GTCS' was quicker.  Thanks guys.

In theory per ASME B16.22 it'd be 1.730..1.735in

To get your own pirated copy of the standard (and then check page 11 or 12)

If you're needing fittings they cost a fortune and I have a box of them, let me know what you need before you spend $25 on one part

Will do.  Yeah because of that other hobby I'm very aware of how much copper fittings cost.
