My kid loves blowing bubbles, and while I don't mind buying bubble solution at the store, the quality can be a bit all over the place and we never seem to have enough.

Does anyone here have a recipe for bubble solution? My kid and I would be grateful.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for a bubble-blowing machine that lasts more than a few hours, let me know.

Dawn dish soap makes the best bubbles of the dish soaps. Forever ago I had a giant bubble wand, from the makers of the aerobie flying disc, I don't recall the formula of soap to water off the top of my head, but 6-7' diameter bubbles were possible just using Dawn and water. I'll see if I can dig up the ratio. 10:1 water to soap.

Thank you. Good to know it's as simple as water and Dawn.

I think adding a little glycerin to the mix helps with both size and longevity.

Some recipes included Karo corn syrup to add strength to the bubbles.

Pro tip: In the wintertime blow  your bubbles with a hair dryer set on high heat and the bubbles will float upwards for quite a while.
