Coll9947:
I admire your youthful enthusiasm. It will take you places. Try to recognize it for what it is.
Also, note that most of the negative comments here are from people who have been there. Experienced business owners with real world training in the school of hard knocks. When I was young and enthusiastic, I generally didn't listen much to these people. Don't do like me.
I will side with them and say you are in for a rough ride.
It sounds like you are trying to build a business that YOU would like to hang out at. Big mistake. Do NOT build what you want and hope others will like it too. Build what others want to pay you for, and screw your own opinions. If you build what you like, your friends will hang out there, and you had better be prepared to throw them out when they are drunk and stupid or won't pay their tab. Besides, young people generally don't have lots of money. Don't build your business on them.
If you are insistent on moving forward (and still listening), I'd like to offer a slightly different business model.
The best (and most profitable) bar model I've heard of lately is a meet/ greet nightclub type atmosphere designed for overweight people. Yep, drunk heavies on the dance floor. Call it "Club Chubbie" or "Biggies" or something like that. "For big people and the people who love them".
Marketing to overweight people just works. Look at businesses like Curves, or the Big and Tall clothing shops. Majority of Americans are overweight, and most feel uneasy about it. They don't like going to places designed for "beautiful people". (or smart, or young, or pick your unattainable group)
Google "nightclub for overweight people" to get yourself started.
I probably won't be one of your customers, but you'll make a lot more money than I ever did, because I have spent most of my career building a business that I LIKED, instead of one that would BE PROFITABLE!
Good luck!
