We have a very satisfactory HP laser jet 1600 printer. Have added a couple of iPads to play with and can't print from the iPads because HP doesn't have apple drivers for this printer. I looked on line with my weak Google Fu and came up with nada. Anybody else run into this and find a solution other than buying a new printer? We really like the printer. The quality is nice, speed is good, each color has a separate cartridge, and it still works great. Hate the thought of replacing a perfectly functioning device.

You need an app from HP to print to their printers via the iOS devices (iphones, iPads, AppleTV) and even then there are limitations as the device has to be "airprint" capable.

Or you could follow this solution and use the printer via one of your existing computers. You just need to make sure both the computer and printer are powered on.

Have you tried the HP universal print driver?
