Yeah, the nouveau alphanumeric crap is way beyond played-out. Time to start naming cars again--give them some mystique (not that the Mercury Mystique had much of its namesake)

Oh, I'm in agreement on these. The "old" Volvo numbering system made perfect sense. The new V70XC crap to me is meaningless and confusing.
We're stopped at a light behind a crossover. My wife reads the logo and says, "Toureg? WTF is a Toureg?" I LOL'd. VW's newest names are unpronounceable, unspellable drivel.

I think the new system is perfect sence.
C for coupe/convertible, S for sedan, V for wagon, XC for cross over. Larger number, bigger car. Simple
