Today I lifted the Cobra engine (350 Chevy) out of the boat, changed the drive coupler and reinstalled the engine.
Then I removed the outdrive, split the top from the bottom, adjusted the shift rod, reassembled and reinstalled the outdrive.
Parts were about $500. My labor so zero so pretty cheap fix.
Tomorrow I'll sea trial it to see if my fixes worked.
A small open boat may be a bit much for first time boaters, so I'm going to fix up the trailer so the Jon boat fits better, and paint the boat inside and out. Then flip it.
I'm looking at a 1971 Starcraft. original owner with all the manuals. It has a 28hp two stroke with a planing fin. Electric start and trim control. The carpet is funky, but the wood below is fine.
Asking $2500. She's not selling it just to sell it, she wants it to go to a certain person.
Yall got me to looking for a small boat.
