Because she appeared to be going straight, I started moving forward (less than a foot).

Failure to signal is a pet peeve of mine. My 2002 Escort has rather neat front DRLs. The parking lights are in the inboard corners of the headlight assembly and are double filament, the front side markers are in the outer corners that wrap around a full 90 to the side. The kewl part is, when signaling, the inner and out lights blink in sequence -inner-outer-inner-outer. Ford was clever with that.

One wig wag type flasher is cheaper than two socket set ups, pennies multiplied by 5 million or so = $$.

Granted, but still. How often does a car manufacturer use something that is at once cheap. AND effective, AND kinda cool looking?
Fiat lights up like a Christmas tree when turning.....I just wish people were more accepting of the fact manual cars don't have to sit on the brakes while stopped.
My Fiesta has a good set up. The light faces forward but it reflects enough in the headlight housing that it can be seen from the side plus lights on the mirrors.
Directionals. I can blink once, three times or infinity. Once is never used, three is good for lane changes and the third stays on until the steering wheel comes back to center (straight ahead).
I've only noticed that they're migrating to the mirrors- which I actually like (and am considering a similar upgrade when I'm overhauling the 'D). What I don't like are the non-mechanical turn signal stalks on some cars I've encountered- an ex's BMW SUV had one, and I could NEVER get it to work right. Call me old (believe me, SWMBO does frequently... ) but I want it to stay in position and blinking until I've made my turn, not seem to want to predict what it thinks I'm going to do.

I got pulled over for that once, granted it was at 3am and I am sure the cop was sniffing for drunks. I was sitting at the light in my old Volvo 850. The ground was level, so my foot was off the brakes. I was almost home after working all night and when the light turned green and I went.. the cop behind me lit em up.
Seems he never expected such a large car to be a 5 speed, he was going to write me a fixit ticket for the brake lights and of course, he was checking to see if I had been drinking..
