Could be, I was referring to the notes on the drawing. I thought caliber was caliber, maybe it's different for small arms. I've been wrong before.

Guys if there's any way that an unscrupulous person could use this forum to find out where you are it could be an invitation for burglary. I don't think this thread is a good idea. Just my PO.

Is there any way a bad guy/ computer geek can back out our address from our posts? I don't think so, that only works on NCIS, right?

I'm thinking it might actually dissuade someone from burglary

Stevens Crack Shot 26 (circa mid 20's or earlier... cost new $2.00)
Parker 12 gauge (trojan steel barrels) (last patent 1911)
Stevens 410 single (circa 1935)
Marlin 35 Rem Model 336C
H&R 20 gauge single shot (gave $20 for it)
and a Marlin 22 model 100 6
can't find a pic 'cause mine has a "T" shaped hammer rather than the typical round pull back to cock

I keep a Daisy Red Ryder bb gun in .45 Long Colt. (Winchester lever action carbine).
As well as a couple of ancient 7 mm Mausers and a .22 rifle for target and plinking. And a very accurate .17 cal target air pistol.

fwiw - In small arms the caliber is the diameter of the bore between the lands. For instance a .30 caliber rifle will actually shoot a bullet, 0.308 in dia. A 7 mm rifle will use a 7.1 mm diameter bullet.
In artillery it is the length of the barrel divided by the bore, A Navy 5 in-38 cal cannon has a bore of 5 in between the lands and an length of 190 in (15 ft 8 in) from the breach to the muzzle.
I serously doubt any thieves are studying this forum to see what guns anyone has, in order to steal them or make other burglary decisions.
But, by no means would I post what I have for the many government computers watching the internet to see. I've already run into trouble with that before (Canadian border crossing). The less anyone knows about what I have, and what I do, the better my life is.

Hmmm. I hadn't thought of that aspect. And, I really don't think being concerned about this is a crazy paranoid thing. Lot's of sniffers watching and listening. Besides, I JUST SOLD ALL MY GUNS!!! I DON"T HAVE ANY NOW!! YOU HEAR ME??

It's impressive what a little Googling can uncover if you search usernames, email addresses, or a name.

Yes, I'm fans of both North London teams. Clearly, I am not English.
What do you call an Arsenal fan who passes an IQ test?
A cheat
What do you get when you cross a pig with an Arsenal fan?
I don't know there are some things a pig just won't do.

A criminal would be pretty stupid to intentionally target an armed household (highly raising the stakes he would get his ass capped)... but stupid happens

My first rifle was a crack shot 26 like the one you have pictured. I sold it in 06 for $250 IIRC. I re blued it and re did the stock with linseed oil over 50 years ago. I got very good with that thing when I was a kid. Do you know what they're worth today? Mine had a patent date of 1908 stamped on it. I don't know when it was first purchased by my dad's older brother. It was also my dad's first rifle.
haven't looked into it's worth... both it and the Parker need a good gunsmith ( I inherited them a yr and a half ago ) they have some light surface rust, and the actions are very stiff....
I'm not the least bit worried about someone tracking me down to steal my guns. I'm also not worried about posting my serial numbers (which is another silly online gun myth). Do you not post pictures of your car for fear someone will track you down and steal it?
I'm not worried about posting info and pictures about my cars because my government isn't hysterical about my cars like they are my guns.
No pics, but a part of my accumulation (collection implies some organization or plan) got range-time this weekend. My son and I had a good time with a couple of .22LR's, his 9X19, and my plain old .45 ACP.
Life is good.
Maces 2, 3 and 4. They're short range but good fun.
