As a parent, all I can say is I agree he should be left alone with his shoelaces. People like this should be removed from the gene pool quickly.

This guy is disturbed, and I am pretty thoroughly disgusted.

But threatening murder or dismemberment isn't too cool either (both of which have been suggested in this thread).

You guys did notice that he hasn't hurt anyone yet, right?

And the crime he's being charged with (possession of child pornography) is illegal in only 58 of 187 countries. Yep- legal in 134 countries.

I don't want to wait to see if a sicko like this acts on his twisted imaginations, but releasing the thought police is frightening too.

There are musical genres which set to music equally horrible concepts that some people call art.

Now that he has revealed himself, I am all for watching him extremely closely and prescribing whatever treatment, but I'm not too keen on public lynchings, journalistic destructiveness, murder, or advocating mutilation of a guy because of his weird thoughts. Isn't that kind of what HE is accused of?

Vile. But care is still needed in our response.

Ill pass, but it probably would be an interesting view into a bit of human psychology.

After the Boston Marathon, a man was arrested or questioned or held because he looked up pressure cooker bomb on the internet after reading that the attackers used them. Although it was the company he worked for that tracked employees internet usage and they were the ones who reported it to the police.

Damn shame we have to worry about that sort of thing. "Gee I wonder why/how fertilizer is an explosive, I use it on my lawn, its safe right? Off to Google!"

later that day..."oh hey there mr police"

I would say that if he had built a room for the dismemberment and eating of people, he was acting on those fantasies.

Unless of course he was just Vore-ouristic

That's my thought. He had a CAGE in there for E36 M3 sakes. Now had there been the discovery of infant bones etc a few years from now the Internet conversations would revolve around why he wasn't stopped before he did such heinous things 'since all the signs were there'.

As far as I'm concerned, he acted on his impulses. Fortunately he was discovered before those acts involved one of my children. I understand what a defense attorney would say, but there's more evidence to support that he planned on doing unspeakable things to children than his budding film career.
Fine, don't execute him. Just put him in prison, gen pop.

I agree but thankfully kiddy porn is illegal and that is enough to put him away for a long time.

I'm glad I'm not on the jury. One part of me wants to bury him under the jail, the other part says he didn't "do" anything.

There are millions of people that act out their fantasies but never actually commit the act. Are they all guilty. This guy is obviously twisted, but is he any worse than the guy that dresses up as an assassin or executioner or slave master? How about the guy that dresses up as a knight on crusade?

Kiddie porn? Guilty. Conspiracy? Probably guilty. Killing and eating children? Sorry, as an arm chair jurist, I'd have to say no. Try him for the acts he committed, not what we think he might have done, sometime in the future.

Rule of law, not rule of man.

I bet there are a lot of people that have a cage, dungeon, whatever in the basement for whatever fantasy they are in to. Maybe he liked to sit in the cage, dressed as a woman, in dirty diapers. We don't know. Can we convict him on what he did (child porn)? sure. Punish him for what he might do? No way. I could post here that I am going to kick your ass. I can build a boxing ring in my back yard for the day I am going to kick your ass. Am I guilty of assault?

Show me in that post where I said he neded to be put in prison for that. I was pointing out that in other cases like this, such as Jeffrey Dahmer or John Wayne Gacy, that the signs had been there for YEARS and then everyone wrings their hands about how these terrible things were not stopped. Typical 20/20 hindsight.

And yeah I did say in another post he needed to be left alone with his shoelaces, i.e. give him some time to reflect on just what he was wanting to do and let him make up his own mind about how to handle that. I won't retract or apologize for that.

He's already guilty of possessing illegal images, real and faked. Doesn't mean he's going to do any of those things.

Now, I really do think he was planning to do something horrific. But he will have a defense, and not all of it will be completely unreasonable.

Wanna bet what kind of images one could find in Rob Zombies' computers?
