I should have made this thread at least a week ago. Its been hectic.

Anyway, here we are. 2:30am on a Tuesday.

Saturday I graduated with my MBA from Wake Forest and have a trip planned to celebrate - I take off in a few hours.

Only thing I have planned is to see The Menzingers on Thursdays night down there

And sweat. I know I'll sweat a lot.

Anything in Austin yall recommend?  And hang out spots for car meets or anything?

Restaurants you like?

Not car-related but I recommend the bridge bats. If you like bats.

Hit the Comedy Mothership if you can. That's really all I have for Austin.

Eat a lot of queso.  Chuy's or Baby A's used to be the gold standard but that was many moons ago.  Hike up and wonder at the Penny Backer bridge.  Go see the bats on Congress as mentioned. Barton Springs pool on a weekday to beat the heat.  Eat more queso.  Stop at Rudy's Gas Station for BBQ without a lot of wait and pretiousness.  If you have time, eat some queso and chips.

I regret moving away Austin in 2009 but I was trapped in a bad job with a non-compete and wanted to be a little closer to family.

Call ahead and see if Petrol Lounge can give you a tour of their site. It's across the street from The Domain, a big tourist trap outdoor mall.

Also not too far from there is a K1 Speed indoor kart track.

Outside of Austin is Lyndon Johnson's birthplace and his ranch. It made for a nice day trip. There's also a WW2 themed mini golf course. The hedgerows can be tough.

I love the Menzingers.  That's all, carry on.

Saw the Bat Bridge this morning

Actually got into the Mothership last night - Jimmy Carr (sp?), Shane Gillis, Tony Heathcliff, and Joe Rogan, plus a guy named Hassan that I missed and a large black man that I didnt catch the name of.

Lots of scootering around. Had some BBQ at Coopers yesterday, going to Matts El Rancho with a local tonight.

Tomorrow is the show

No clue what else, just exploring.

Tomorrow my buddy from back home, who used to live here and still comes often for work, comes in from a business trip in Dallas, so he'll show me more.

I wish I could find a little car hang out place. Ive seen very few 'cool' cars so far

Today Im at 14k steps and its 230, so I'll be close to the same as yesterday.

Ive ridden the Lime Scooter so much, too. Im just trying to explore on my own, see what I see.
