Wife & 2 boys. We bought the house about 10 years ago, certainly not a fancy neighborhood, but nice folks that keep up their yards. We're friendly with all the neighbors except the one next door. Until 3 years ago when this bad man married into the family next door. Now being a car guy, I can understand flipping cars. But this guy buys totaled $400 dented econobox. pounds it out with a framing hammer, rattle cans it and sells it without a title and the next owner knowing it's totaled. "the uncle owns the car and is in California....we'll send it"

Even worse, he abuse of the wife, kids, and selling drugs. The police are frequent visitors, we call, other neighbors call, and sometimes the abused wife calls. CPS has a file. We call anytime there's a car without plates in front of our house. The kids AND adults have harassed my 15 year old. The cops are on our side, they give tickets and do what they can. The authorities recommended security cameras and documenting everything. This guy comes from a family tradition of being a jerk. He knows how far he can push, knows he can legally call me names in front the sidewalk. I've got a dozen stories. It makes going in MYfront yard and even our backyard a pain. What would you guys do? Seriously considering moving. Just want to not stressed, and worried about being in my own home.

So the GIF is what he did on Saturday in front of my house. I had the garage door open putting brakes on my wife's British SUV (another thread for another day) He does this flop on the ground holding up a piece of paper as he giggles and giggles....I guess I'm happy it's not an aggressive act this time. Just plain weird.

wait till you are sure they are all out of town and have a little "lightning" hit their house? I am sure that everybody on your block would love to see them gone.

Other than that.. keep hitting the cops over them.

A bright, bright "yard light" pointed at their bedroom window?

Tall, tall fence and automatic gate?

I'm sure the more devious here will have some great ideas to add.

I dunno man, sure looks like public exposure to me. Ought to call the cops with this one. Your poor minor of a son witnessed it, too.

Do they own the house? I posted in the summer about bad neighbours... filed a complaint with the city, called the fire department about their illegal deck (which had drunk guys spitting and pissing off it) and talked to the cops – who recommended I call them if the shiny happy people next door as much as looked at me sideways. Every time the cops got called, the landlord got fined. House is for sale.

At least something happened for you!

We live in an older neighborhood with lots of retired folks and people with kids in high school.

I kind of dread what will happen in another 5-10 years as more of the retired folk die off and other people move.

That is exactly the situation in my neighbourhood. No way I was going to sit by and let it take root! Once one place goes, it's easier for the others to follow. If you're a really squeaky wheel with city council, by-law department, cops - they may be able to help you.

Sadly, the grandma or brother own the house. I just hope that shiny happy person never gets ownership of the house.

Yup, we call the cops at the drop of a hat. We know all the of the local cops now. There's a Kia out in front of our house right now. So tempting.....

If he's street parking unregistered cars, can't you call the city to tow them?

I second the bright yard lights idea.

I too like the "landscape" lights.....say it is the holiday season I might be able to do a bit more. The Xmas laser strobe? Hmmm

Sprinkler set to motion detector that only sprays in their yard, with the really high pressure spray, with the motion detector pointed at their yard. Do the same thing at the sidewalk and just warn the other neighbors to walk on the other side.

Funny thing, or not...is they had guy that visits occasionally, try to destroy our security cam with a rock. . It ended up pointing at his face. Not sure if he understood the idea that the data is stored in the house. Not the $14 camera on the side of my house. Police have the image.

Well then, perhaps you should pick up a chainsaw or motorcycle hobby, use Sunday morning as carb adjustment day.
