Yeah, I was trying to prevent plays before they happened. Still lots of learning on how to do that, of course. But even then, it's preventing and taking away instead of trying to get past someone and creating chances. Different way of thinking.
I did get a chance to take a run at the goal the other night but I was stuck in "I'm the defence, I need to stay back" mindset. Next time! That's part of the learning, when it's okay to break out and have someone else take care of what's going on in the back. I was being very conscious of the fact that I was not the forward and I was not going to abandon my goalie. Next game, I'll have had more time to think about it!
