Child services called SWMBO this morning, looks like there's a 2-month old baby boy waiting at home for me.

Sorry, back story: We're foster parents and have been for 3+ years. We've taken in a lot of kids, but all but one of them were guaranteed to go home. We've always talked adoption. CPS called and said they had a baby that could possibly be free & clear (AKA - adoptable) and SWMBO called me.
I don't know if I'm scared E36 M3less or super happy.
Damn dude, last time my wife called me and said there was something waiting for me, she'd bought a MINI Cooper.

I don't think that's how it happened!
Congrats! I admire foster parents!

Thats really cool! Growing up my parents did that for some time. We had three kids stay with us (not all at the same time).
Congrats! We just had an adoption go down , but, it's good to know a child that needs a home is going home to one. Good Luck!
You are an honorable man, and your wife is a jewel. Heartfelt congratulations. My family had the opposite problem- parenthood at 16 or 17. But it all worked out well.

As a parent of two boys, I can attest that those are rarely mutually exclusive feelings...
And congrats!

LMAO!!!
Oh, wait.
My wife and I have planned our lives around having foster kids when I'm 45. Has it been a worthwhile experience for you? I thought you lived in Washington - if so, have they been difficult to work with?
In reply to Johnboyjjb:
Yes, it has been extremely worthwhile. We've fostered some great kids. I do live in Washington. The people "on the ground" are great to work with, but the licensing requirements are insane, IMO. The bureaucracy is not very good, but there is good help to get through it.
