I think I'm being ghosted by Shock Warehouse.

No word on the replacement shock.

Yesterday, I did a thing.

Traded my much loved '08 1500 on a hopefully to be as good a truck and equally loved '22 2500.

6.4, 4X4, yada, yada, yada. Tradesman, so about as much a stripper as they come these days. Still more bells and whistles than any other truck I've owned.

Got an RA from SW, got em boxed, better than they were sent, I'll ship them back tomorrow.

Looks like I'm eating shipping both ways and 20% for restocking.

What kind of review the seller gets is in their court now.

In reply to SaltyDog :

I guess that's one way to get new shocks...

Ha Ha!

Yep! And tires, got rid of the rust, got a back seat for the dog.

Oh yeah, and got a whole bunch of monthly payments...

Honestly, the 08 was at it's max pulling the camper, I was never really comfortable.

It did it's job, but it's 14.5 years old. I just wasn't comfortable going on 1000+ mile road trips pulling the camper. If not for the camper, I'd have driven it till it, or I, was dust.

So, a month after returning the shocks, one of which was garbage on receipt, on my $30 dime, after having confirmation that they were received by Shock Warehouse, multiple emails, an a couple of phone calls, assuring me that my refund has been approved and "sent through", I'm still waiting...

To bring us up to date, I'm out over $200, and have zero shocks to show for my efforts.

Not saying anything negative about

SHOCK WAREHOUSE,

but I won't be ordering from them again.

Final chapter.

After multiple emails and phone calls, I finally got a full refund, no restocking fee.

I paid the return shipping, which I feel is completely fair.

The good; decent prices, selection and shipping.

The bad, customer service.

1st, getting a defective shock.

2nd, not getting a replacement.

3rd, taking forever to get a refund.

Well, I see this thread is nicely wrapped up now.  Even so, I'll relate my recent experience with my '85 Chevy C30 dooley, which tows a bit, and does some hauling.  I had been driving it more, and further and noticed what a lousy ride it had, even for an old truck with 1-ton springs.  I ordered shocks from rockauto, got them in a few days and put them in.  The rears were heavy-duty AC Delco's, the fronts, Monroe's, I think.  Biggest issue was that the upper mounting point on one of the fronts had worked loose and was clattering over every bump.  The rust on the stud was keeping it from coming off, but it made quite the racket.  Fortunately, new shocks came with new upper mounting hardware.  I've owned the truck since the late '90's and never put shocks on it, so I figured it was time.  It's much more pleasant to drive now.
