Got sweet suite tickets for Saturday night. What's the best route? Mapping shows 30 plus minutes longer to stay interstate
Shortest time is NC181 to US19E Second is US-321 Longest is I-26N out of Asheville
The first two are through the mountains. I'll be driving a boring rental car, including Saturday after the race. How bad are the mountain roads? Will I save any time or just do the 70MPH interstate way?
You're from Florida, take the mountain route for the views alone even if in the rental appliance. I recommend taking 129.
I've been to Bristol Nascar races a number of times in the late '90s. A great time but more of a controlled demo derby than an auto race inside what seems more like a football stadium than a race track.
My normal route to Bristol is I-40 west to Hickory where I use 321 north to 19e to the track. Picking rte 321 up in Gastonia is a decent option as well. If you have some spare time, driving 421 up into Bristol is a helluva road, then backtrack down to the track. Downside to using 321 is that there's usually some pretty slow traffic, but not always. I-26 out of Asheville probably is a little quicker, but boring.
Uhhh, go fast and turn left?
